Hello out there in fishy land. I'm here again to let you know what we
have been told about the fishing around here. Also what we have
seen in the way of fish.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Crappie--they are catching some nice crappie on the city lake and
a few at the res. The one's from the city lake we have seen are in the 2 -
21/2 pound range. That's a nice crappie in anyone's book. They have been
hitting on minnows and a few jigs. Around the evening time is the best.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Walleye--there have been some real nice walleye and saugeye caught
in the last week. This is from the city lake and the res. Allot from the Res
is from below the outlet. Minnows and crawlers have worked good on these.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Bass----the city lake is the only report we have gotten on bass.
They have caught a few nice ones around the 4-5 pound range from all we have
been told. Crawlers and lures of several kinds have been used.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Catfish--the channels and flatheads have been real active in most
of the waters around here. Channels from2 to 20 pounds have been caught
using crawlers and perch. Flatheads have been caught ranging from 10 to 50
pounds. They have been caught using crawlers, perch, koi, and goldfish.
There has even been a couple caught using cut perch.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
As of this morning the res was at 1280.66 and they was really dumping the
water at the outlet. They have the low flow open 18% and both gates open 2
1/2 ft.
We are open 7 days a week and have a full line of bait and tackle for
your fishing needs. We also have the city permits for fishing and for your
boat. Plus we have the state license for fishing.
